Romanian FUG one more meeting...

iday, 25th of July 2008, Romanian FUG (Adobe Flex User Group) had another Romanian meeting. Once again meeting place were chosen - a pub. Guess Adobe so much interested in Flex Evangelism in Romania that poor local FUG had no better place to be except this pub.

Andrei Ionescu, Romanian FUG member, write in his blog:

We spoke about Flex/AIR applications, future ones and released ones, and we also spoke about Fx{r} and how can we improve it.

It is funny actually and sounds very strange, Romanian FUG boils in own juice of very few people (barely 10) and always forgetting to notify other members that some events will take action at certain place and time. Last meeting, I assume by photos posted, been only with 5 people, even less than I was expecting... Most of them working for Quask's Romanian office, so all these spontaneous meetings for me look in the same messy way as whole Quask.

Sorry guys, but I'm laughing my ass when geeks getting for a beer in some pub and call it FUG Meeting. Get real, guys!

Evi if you had looked at the official group site you would have seen the message about the meeting posted on 22 Jul. Yes I did not notify all the group members as I feel it is your responsibility to check the group website (I do not chase members to join the meetings). The place we choose for this meetings was the same as the previous one because we felt that if new persons wanted to come it may be easier for them to find it.
The only thing that I know I should have done better was to post the meeting with more time in advance not just 3 days. For the future meetings I will post it 1 week in advance.
I see no reason for you to mix the group with the company we work. In the group there are a lot of different persons that work at different places. If you had an unpleasant experience with your previous company you should not throw mud on all of us (and the company for that matters).

And why did you comment on FX{r} and not the group website?

Virgi, i comment where i feel it's the right place, that's the reason.

As for responsibilities, you are totally wrong, you made me once again smiling. You totally shuffling the roles in this whole thing. It is you who is interesting to expand FUG, not me (since i don't see any benefits of this membership). It is you the one who have to run, minimum weekly, newsletter about what is going on in FUG in general, and it is definitely you who suppose to send notifications to all your members or/and people who might be interested to participate in upcoming FUG.

Little hint for you, Virgi, i don't have "unpleasant experience with your previous company", Quask was just another client. Clients can be good or bad, shit happens. This particular client was a good reason for me to force myself to do more things in RIA world. So my experience was rather positive, especially from financial point of view, when i at least doubled my income right after i terminated contract with them.

You are all still suffer from lack of management, not only in the company you working for, but this "disease" transmitted now on FUG as well. It has nothing to do with throwing mud. I'm still a member of roFUG, isn't it? I think i have plenty of reasons and rights to comment on roFUG internal issues when i find the reason, at least because i have much longer experience with HR in general and running non commercial organizations, one of them was 60 people user group and 230 people political movement. So, believe me, my friend, i know how things works. And instead being horrified and yell back when someone points you on issues you have, better think that someone just have more experience and very possible have a good point.

In other words, learn from others, don't boil in own juice only...
